Trial Flights
To celebrate the acquisition of an additional two seat trainer to our gliding fleet and leading into our Summer flying programme we invite you to join us and fly in a Glider.
We offer a range of flight experiences from the very affordable 15-20 minute glider flight to the ultimate “Mile High” experience, where you will soar for up to an hour from 5300 feet. Either sit back relax and enjoy the sensation of silent flight in our unique sport, or if you are up to the challenge, take the controls under the expert guidance of our fully qualified instructors and go searching for that elusive lift that will keep you soaring for longer. It is an experience of a life time!
Standard Trial Flight - $125
This is our basic trial flight and includes a tow to 2500 feet above the magnficent Manawatu, where you'll be released to sit back, relax and enjoy the wonder of unpowered flight. Our Standard Trial Flight should be good for at least 15-20 minutes of silent soaring, enough to enjoy unmatched views of Palmerston North, Feilding and beyond. If you wish, you can take the controls under supervision of one of our experienced instructors.
Super Trial Flight - $165
For those that wish to guarantee an extended flight with spectacular views to Mt. Ruapehu and the Kapiti Coast on a clear day, then our Super Trial Flight is for you. This flight includes a tow to 4000 feet above Feilding and should be good for 30-40 minutes, weather permitting, or longer if conditions are good! This will allow more time at the controls and plenty of opportunities for capturing snaps to record your experience.
Mile High Trial Flight - $200
If you'd like the ultimate soaring adventure, then the Mile High Trial Flight is for you! A tow to 5300 feet (one statute mile) over feilding should allow unprecedented views to the west coast of the North Island and over the Ruahine and Tararua ranges, well into the Wairarapa. The higher tow will allow you the maximum opportunity to take in the soaring experience as you explore the local area for up to an hour in the splendour of silence.
